But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

With guilt, sin, and condemnation wiped away, you now have the ability to enter into the presence of God boldly and without fear. Meditating on the Blood will take away your sin-consciousness and give you a justified thought-life. “Therefore, being justified by faith [in Jesus' blood, you] have peace with God....” You and God are no longer distant, no longer far away; you have been made nigh by the Blood. Your new relationship is not a fear relationship but a faith and love relationship. You no longer go to church, read the Bible, and pray because you are afraid of God, but because you love God. Love becomes the drawing force, giving you a hunger to know Him and to have close fellowship with Him. Everything you do now in the Kingdom is love-motivated ― because He first loved you. If you sin, do not go back into sin, condemnation, and self-works, but confess the sin and believe in the Blood. He is faithful to forgive and cleanse (1 John 1:9).

Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins.

When you received Jesus into your life and became born again, it was a lot more than just a change of eternal destiny. Yes, you are now on your way to heaven, but the power of the Blood provided much more. The Word declares that you have been delivered, set free, rescued from the power of darkness. Notice that this is an immediate positional change from being under the power of darkness one moment to instantly being delivered from it. If you are born again, you are delivered from darkness--from demons, fear, sickness, and poverty. You have been delivered from the entire curse that came on mankind through Adam’s sin. You may not look delivered, feel delivered, or are living delivered, but you have been delivered and that deliverance is available to you today! Say it to yourself often, “I have been delivered!”

The people which sat in darkness saw great light; and to them which sat in the region and shadow of death light is sprung up.

Darkness has ruled over mankind since the fall of Adam, but when Jesus came and shed His own blood, darkness was defeated. You no longer have to live a life of bondage to the curse or to circumstances. You have been translated out of one kingdom into another. In this new kingdom you have a new King – Jesus Christ, who now dominates in your life. He has given you life and life more abundantly. As you learn to obey and yield to your new King, you will start to prosper in your life! His goal is that you prosper and be in health, even as your soul prospers. This will happen as your soul comes out of darkness into the light through knowledge of the Word of God. The more light you allow in, the more darkness you will be free of. Take the apostle Paul’s advice to Timothy as advice to you from God: “study to show yourself approved.”

For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.

In this new kingdom, you have redemption. You have been plucked out of bondage, out of a life of defeat, and translated into a life of victory. You have gone from victim to victor, from the tail to the head, from being under to being over. There was an immediate positional change for you in the Spirit. Unless your mind becomes renewed to your new position, potential, and place in God, you will live in darkness, even though you have been delivered and redeemed. Why not take advantage of what Jesus paid for on the cross and start to live as a person who has been redeemed and delivered? Today, remind yourself of what Romans 5:17 says: “I now rule and reign in this life.”
